Spero Dedes Knicks Radio Play-by-Play Announcer
Spero Dedes joined MSG Networks in 2011 as the New York Knicks radio play-by-play announcer on ESPN New York 98.7FM and back-up to Mike Breen on MSG’s telecasts of Knicks games.
Before returning to the New York area, the New Jersey native spent six seasons as the radio voice of the Los Angeles Lakers, calling the team’s back-to-back NBA Championships in 2009 and 2010.
Dedes additional broadcasting duties have also included: college basketball and NFL football for CBS; NFL Network and NBA TV studio host; radio and television play-by-play for the New Jersey Nets; and calling events for NBC at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Dedes is a 2001 graduate from Fordham University and won the school’s inaugural Marty Glickman Award given in memory of the original Knicks voice.
