About the Rockette Summer Intensive
The Rockette Summer Intensive is one week of intensive study with the world famous Radio City Rockettes and a Rockette Director/ Choreographer that focuses on the Rockette precision dance technique. Students receive six hours of class daily with emphasis on Rockette jazz, tap, formations, kickline plus a performance opportunity.
The 2009 Rockette Summer Intensive will be held at Radio City Music Hall on June 21-26, June 28-July 3, July 5-10, July 12-17, July 19-24.
Requirements: To be considered for the Rockette Summer Intensive dancers must be 14 years old (by June 20, 2009), have a minimum of 5 years continuous training in tap, jazz, and ballet and attend a Rockette Summer Intensive audition or submit a video audition.
Merit Scholarships
All live auditionees will be considered for 10 merit based scholarships

Rockette Summer Intensive Audition Registration
Can't Make The Audition? If you cannot attend The Rockette Summer Intensive auditions, you may be considered for the program by submitting a video audition
Video Auditions Requirements:
Audition Application:
Video intro of dancer stating name, age and all material presented on the video tape, along with the Rockette Summer Intensive sites the dancer would be interested in taking.
Jazz Combination: Present a short solo jazz combination, approximately 32 counts (no Hip-Hip please) Jazz combination must include a double pirouette.
Tap Combination: Present a short solo tap combination, approximately 32 counts. Combination must include a double time step.
Kicks: Present 8 eye-high jump kicks.
Video audition should show the applicant's highest level of dance ability
Videos must be in DVD format only - maximum total length of 10 minutes. All videos must be clearly marked with full name, address, phone number, email address and must include a printed index of all materials presented. DVDs will not be returned.
Also, you may upload your audition to AOL Video or You Tube (make sure you mark it private.) Send the link where your audition can be viewed to rockettesummerintensive@thegarden.com. In your email also include: your full name address, phone number, email address, and an index of all materials presented.
